At the end of January, Mallory International, with Maneno Enterprises, our Malawi partner, completed distribution of 586,000 books to 781 secondary schools across Malawi. This extremely large and complex project, involving shipments from the UK, Kenya, India and South Africa, as well as purchase of local titles inside Malawi, was completed on time and below budget.
Special thanks are due to the sorting team in Malawi, led by Jolyon Hunt (below), who repacked and labelled over half of these books by school.

We are pleased to announce the signature of a major contract with the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology (MOEST) in Malawi , funded by the World Bank, to supply textbooks to nearly 800 secondary schools. This is a Joint Venture with Maneno Enterprises, our partner in Malawi. Gaulphine Nyirenda, of Maneno, has represented Mallory in Malawi since 1989, and the two businesses have a record of working together going back more than 20 years, with a series of contracts successfully completed.
The logistics of this contract are particularly challenging due to the number of delivery points, but we are confident that our long experience there will stand us in good stead.

Julian and Caroline recently visited Ethiopia between 11th and 21st March. Caroline visited our school customers while Julian met with the Universities and other institutions locally.
Our local representative, Tafesse Solomon, accompanied them during their stay.

The eighth edition of Low Priced Educational Books, our annual catalogue of titles with special pricing for sub-Saharan Africa, is now available to registered customers.
It has increased in size every year, and now contains nearly 10,000 titles. The LPEB is now available in three volumes: Arts and Social Sciences, Sciences and Engineering, and Medical and Life Sciences, in both print and CD format.
